Green Feathers bird-box camera and screen kit

A dedicated local-screen route with optional connected phone viewing. The camera still needs power and the radio link needs testing.

Checked 20 October 2026 · No hands-on testing

Connected app support is not confirmed beyond the published date. This model is not a current finder pick for app viewing; obtain updated written terms before choosing that use. Local viewing and recording on the dedicated screen are separate from the app route.

Our view

Investigate this if you want a dedicated viewing screen and can power the camera. It offers a different data route from a camera that must reach your home router directly. Test the camera-to-screen link where you intend to keep the screen; a range figure is not proof it will work through your walls.

Who it may suit

A household that prefers to watch locally on a separate display, or wants to review recordings at the screen. If the garden camera cannot reach the home router, the alternative camera-to-screen link may be useful, provided it works at your actual locations. The screen’s battery does not power the garden camera.

Local viewing and phone viewing are different

The setup guide allows the screen’s Wi-Fi step to be skipped. It instructs powering both units and describes viewing the pre-paired feed. For remote app use it adds the screen to the home network and account. So local screen viewing is the route to assess without home Wi-Fi; away-from-home phone viewing needs the extra working connection.

Our finder does not assume Wi-Fi at the screen from an answer about Wi-Fi at the bird box. A local-screen option must not silently replace someone’s request for live phone viewing.

Recording and maintenance

The recording guide places the card in the screen and describes schedules for constant recording or motion detection. Check the settings you need and export important footage rather than treating the card as permanent storage. Plan power at the screen for sustained use as well as at the camera.

Resolve the listing differences

The product page uses both 1080p wording and a different main-stream specification; confirm the supplied camera and recorded resolution. Its recording-duration example also needs checking: 0.75GB per hour would use 64GB in about 85 hours, not ten days of continuous recording. Actual retention depends on settings and activity.

The contents list does not fully spell out every screen charging accessory. Ask for a complete parts list covering both units, approved power extensions, a card and a suitable habitat. Compare the full basket with the direct Wi-Fi camera, not just a headline price.

Confirm the current support commitment

The manufacturer’s published support table lists 12 October 2026 for mobile-app support and 9 April 2027 for hardware security updates for these model families. Checked on 20 October 2026, the app date has passed. This does not establish that the app has stopped working. Ask for current written support dates for the exact hardware before relying on connected features. A hardware warranty is a separate commitment.

Before ordering

  • Does the dedicated radio link work through the actual obstacles between camera and screen?
  • Is the power arrangement complete for both units?
  • If phone viewing matters, does supported home Wi-Fi reach the screen location?
  • Which exact hardware, app-support period and recording specification are supplied?
